But in other news, I got to wear this cute outfit when it was sunny. And I’m not gonna lie, I was kinda feelin’ mahself in this, ya mean?! I’m sorry, I’ll stop now and really get down to this look. This is a fairly old sweater I got, fairly meaning about 2 years, and I didn’t really wear it as much. I have this thing about anything nude or light pink colored and have permanently convinced myself that I’m so pale, this will just blend in with my skin and look, well, bad. A lot of my friends tell me I’m crazy but then when we go shopping and I ask what do you think?… There’s that awkward pause and they eventually say yes I see what you mean, it looks like your body has spawned this piece of cloth out of your skin and now you’re just wearing it…. Sorry for the visual. However, this morning I had a revelation and thought no, no today is the day that I will wear this sweater! I can make this work, I got this, oh yeah. Took me about 20 minutes to really figure out how to wear it (cause you know a pink sweater with cutoffs is so difficult) but I did it and I encourage all of you to do the same with clothes you have a love/hate relationship with.
Now that I’ve finished my 2am rant, I do want to seriously talk to you about denim cutoffs. I loveeeee them. They are so easy to wear because they give that messy rolled up look that can be dressed up or down. Honestly, it’s amazing. This particular pair are actually men’s (an old pair from my brother, they were too small on him) and I thought I love the color, not the fit so much, but color yes. What can I do here with this (insert thinking emoji, also, remind me I have to get that plugin with the new thinking emoji) and ding, cutoffs. Yassss, cutoffs! So I’ll tell you how I got them to really roll the precise amount so they fit just right. You know that pair that you drool over and always end up wearing telling yourself, “Stop wearing the same pair over and over again! You have 35 pairs of shorts what is wrong with you?!” Walk away and 10 minutes later you’re wearing them. Yeah, been there. So let’s get you a second pair that will be just as good, now you’ll have two pairs you can’t get enough of. See, aren’t you happy you go this far in this post, I’m happy you’re here so don’t go anywhere. Let’s continue down this journey together… forever. Not forever I’m kidding we’re almost done here. So take your favorite pair of short shorts that are not the kind that are rolled, and place them on top of the pair you are about to cut. Then add about 2 and a half inches from that hemline, a little more if it’s your first time ever doing this, and just cut away. Straight lines for the most part, I mean that would be helpful, and try them on. Now you’re thinking why more if it’s my first time, well that’s because as my mother wisely would tell me, “Aga… you can always rush and cut but you can’t get that length back without a seam line.” She’s a wise woman let me tell you. So yes, first time, give yourself a little room for error, that way you don’t just ruin them. Throw them in the wash to get that distressed look and violà! Totally googled that to make sure I got the accent mark right btw.
Let me know down below if you tried making your own cutoffs! I’d love to know!
