One of the biggest things that I love about sewing is that I can make almost anything I want. I say almost because I’m good, honestly really good, but I’m not a pro so I don’t want it to seem that I can whip up some couture pieces over here! However, when I have old pairs of jeans that I realize I’m not wearing anymore but still love the actual color or texture of them I start coming up with ideas of what I can do. I had an old pair of Zara jeans, loved the color but noticed that when I wore them the fabric felt almost itchy against my legs. Nothing crazy but after about an hour I just wanted to rip them off! I decided I’ll try to make a skirt out of them and see how it ends up. I have to say I’m quite pleased with the result but the best part is I had all this leftover fabric from the legs that I ended up making this mini bag to go with it. 🙂
The straps were actually from a pair of Scotch & Soda jeans that came with suspenders. I love little tote style bags, I just made a post about them, and thought why not make my very own. It’s actually quite simple so if any of you are interested please let me know in the comments below and I’d be so happy to make a post about it.
I paired the look with this neutral colored knit top from Graham & Spencer and my Isabel Marant studded boots. I feel that this is a perfect look for a casual night out like going to a dinner or concert.
