Hello everyone! I’m so excited to finally get to share with you my trip to Spain! I brought along a friend with me to my family trip and the 5 of us went off for the week to Palma de Mallorca. I already have family that lives in Mallorca but it was my first time going and I can’t tell you how excited I was, I was counting down the days as you can imagine!
I already started taking pictures before we landed. I knew I wanted to take as many photos just so I can share them with all of you. I was really surprised to see all the mountains that surrounded this island.
We had a week for this trip but two days were already marked off as travel days so when we landed we went straight to the city, there wasn’t anytime to waste.
We started our first day in the city of Palma, since it was just a short 20 minute drive from where we were staying at with my family. The Cathedral of Palma was incredible. As you’re driving towards the city you see it from a distance and it is magnificent. As we went through the Cathedral we learned all there was about it.
Building of the Cathedral began in 1229 by King James I but didn’t finish until 1601. When you step inside the Cathedral you immediately notice all the details and work that was put into building it. With every corner there was something new to discover. We continued our day after the Cathedral just walking through the streets of the city seeing all there was to offer. The thing that I love most about the city are all the streets that intertwine in every direction that make it so enjoyable to explore. Coming from NYC where most of it is structured by numbered streets and avenues, Palma was such a breathe of fresh air when it came time to explore and just walk around. Another great thing about walking through the city was that there was gelato sold at almost every corner!I know this wasn’t the greatest picture of what they had to offer but I had to throw it in here just so you can get a feel for it. I can’t emphasize enough just how tasty the gelato in Spain was, we ate it every day!
I hope you guys enjoyed Part 1 of my trip to Mallorca but there is much more to come so stay tuned!
